I lived in Gainesville as well and I really enjoyed the UC and the Melody Club and Ambush. i have some fond memories that I will never forget. I am in Phoenix now for the past 11 years getting kinda homesick. Who knows ?
Does Ernie still work at the UC & what about Jimbo used to work at the Ambush ?

I used to go to this club all the time..but it is too small. You can't get to the downstairs bar at all without getting your drink knocked all over you. They barely play any trance, house or techno...like Parliament House. The drag show is tired and it takes up all the room in the downstairs making it even smaller than it was before. If you go from bar to bar to bar, the drink prices change! I mean why is it $5 for a drink 3ft away from the other bar.
Plus on a personal level, they let ppl do drugs all over the place...but a girl I just met who was 20 took a sip of my drink while it was in my hand and they told me I had to leave. It's not like I even invited her to sip it either.
Overall I am sick of this place. I heard there was a new gay club in Gville opening called Diamonds? Where there are half naked bar tenders...anyone heard about this?

I"m Lovin It...
I"m from G"ville, but have lived in NYC for 13 years. I can tell you that I always have more fun at UC than I ever could in NYC. I beam with "pride", no pun intended, seeing how adept people are with the notion of sharing, tolerance and good old fashion fun. It"s a stop you have to make.

HOT...
The drag shows there are great... they have some new cast members on Sat nights, they are very tallented. The drink prices are some of the best in town and the stongest... "they free pour" Well its just an over all great place to hang in gville.

Too much fun
UC is an awesome place to go dance, hang with friends, play pool or watch a show. It doesn't matter your sexual preference, it is fun for all!! The music on Thursdays is better than Friday and Saturday, too much techno/house/trance on those nights. Tuesday is 80's night, great music and a lot of fun.

BEST around
The UC is the best club i have been to and it beats all the other clubs in Gainesville. Lady Pearl keeps the place bursting at the seems. Keep rockin' the night Pearl! The music and atmosphere are great as well! Everyone should go...no matter what their sexual preference might be!

UC is ok
This club sucks ... It is way too small considering the number of people that go. I have been to many better gay clubs. The music is too hip-hop, also. A truely cool gay club plays better dance music, such as gay house. Pearl is entertaining, though.

Who's that?
What I want to know is who the strippers are on Friday nights. They made me so horny!! All in all, the place is okay. The music is the best part -- You can dance all night with it.

Awesome Music and People!
My husband and I went for our first time on a Friday night. We got there late, but wish we would have arrived earlier. The music and lighting was the best we've heard/seen at any local club. The people are very friendly and laid back. I can't wait to go again! Even if you are straight (like my husband) you will still have fun! There is no unwanted sexual advances (that I saw). Just everyone having a blast!

Very fun place to go
The Drag show is a blast, Lady pearl makes the whole show very funny. Everyone should go at least once.
